When did you become a member of MSAA?

2017

Where do you live besides Yuma and how much time do you spend in Yuma?

I live in Boise, Idaho most of the year. I'm not retired and own a couple of businesses in Boise that need my attention. I spend time in Yuma at Christmas and again for most of February and some of March. As I say, I'm a 'snow bird in training!'

What art mediums do you work in and what is your specialty?

Working in my Idaho studio

I am predominately a glass mosaic artist. I've been making tempered glass mosaics for about 6 years now. I like to incorporate an array of tessarae like glass beads, custom made ceramic embellishments, fused glass tiles, found objects and other design elements. I paint my mosaic surfaces with acrylic paints, alcohol inks, distressed ink sprays, foils, collage papers and specialty papers. I work on wood, metal and glass of any shape and size. Many of my pieces are made as wall art pieces. I also re-purpose dishes, platters, and boxes made of glass, metal or wood.

Do you teach?

Not at this time. I get asked a lot and may sometime in the future ... when I'm retired!!

How do you participate in MSAA?

I've entered art pieces in the Art Show at the library for a couple of years. I volunteered to help set up with the show last year. I also participated as an artist in Art Trails in 2019 and opened the Yuma studio to the public in March. Just this season I offered to redesign and build the now current MSAA website.

What are some of your other interests in life?

I love to travel and this January got to spend a 10 day vacation in Hawaii visiting my brother and 3 nephews and their kids.

Do you have any pets? Children? Grandchildren? Great-grandchildren?

No children but I do have a 6 year old Morkie named Sabine. She gets to travel to Yuma with me each year.

Anything else you'd like to share about yourself?

In the summer I am an art vendor on Saturdays in Boise at our local Public Market. I also participate in larger art shows in places like Sun Valley, Idaho, Bend, Oregon and a large Art in the Park in September in Boise.
