Irene has lived in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Arizona. Her inspiration springs up from the moods and feelings experienced traveling and from gazing at landscapes, nature, and seasons. Irene has been drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. She was a former science teacher, and has worked as a scientific illustrator for the University of Calgary and the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Drumheller, Alberta. Her media include ink, watercolor, oil, and acrylic. Irene takes great delight in being a lifelong learner and continues to keep her ideas and work current by joining art associations in Canada and the USA, enrolling in classes to enhance skill development, and trekking out to plein aire excursions whenever possible.
