I am a local artist and art educator originally from Buffalo, New York. I have a Bachelors in Fine Art with a specialization in Painting from Daemen College. I also have a Masters in Multidisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Printmaking and Museum Studies from Buffalo State College.
My current work focuses on drawing and illustration practices with color playing an integral role. Some may know me as the artist of Lila Folivora. For this artwork, I focus on characters such as the purple sloth. I also include scenes and narratives inspired by personal experiences and popular culture.
I also create realistic renderings of plants. These botanical artworks focus on color through vibrant, contrasting color schemes. They also focus on form construction, implied textures and value through various techniques that emphasize the authenticity of the plant.
I primarily use colored pencil for my current artwork. I also use ink bases to achieve saturated colors and tones. Inks are used both in fluid as well as brush marker forms. Works occasionally include the use of paints such as acrylic and gouache. Each artwork has a unique story and voice. I hope you connect with these stories, find joy in the playful themes, and appreciate the intricacies and beauty of nature and life.
