Lynette has been interested in art most of her life and is generally self-taught. In 1994 she was able to dedicate more time to her art and started drawing with pen and ink in an architectural style using linear perspective. These drawings satisfied her love of detail that then transferred to other mediums. Lynette used this skill to draw over 50 images of Pacific Northwest Universities and sold finished displays with an iconic feature of the campus above a graduate’s diploma. Her drawings received acclaim from purchasers, viewers, and architectural professionals for her fine detail.
As Lynette explored other genres her love of color found expression in large canvas oil paintings inspired by the Mexican and Latin American tradition. These compositions are often described as an explosion of color that draws you into the life of the work.
Lynette works in many mediums, including colored pencil, pastel pencil, and alcohol ink. All of these mediums highlight Lynette’s core artistic principals—fine detail and exquisite color. From abstract explorations in alcohol ink to stunningly detailed renderings of wild animals, Lynette’s work receives praise from private clients and best-in-show awards in public contests.
In addition to producing her own artwork, Lynette loves to share her knowledge with others. Emphasizing joy in the creative journey, she has taught classes in many mediums, both small group lessons and for larger organizations like the Mountain Shadows Artists Association and Wellton-Mohawk Fine Arts Association.
Lynette accepts a very select number of commissions.
