I started my journey in the art world when at the age of 70 I sold my business and retired! My school teacher daughter told me that I wasn’t going to lounge around the house and bug mom to death! She knew I like to doodle and draw, so she said “Here’s a gift card to Michael's, buy some brushes, canvases and paint. Oh yes, I’ve enrolled you in a painting class with Jeanie House!” So, started painting acrylics and oils. After a couple years switched to watercolors and loved them. After a few years (2014) I was introduced to scratch art. Since I like realism and detail, scratch art grabbed me. So since 2014 90% of my art has been scratch art. At this writing I’ve done over 211 commissioned pet portraits. I also teach a class titled, "Introduction to Scratch Art"! I introduce both artists and non-artists to the pleasure of doing soft etching in Scratch Art!
