Although born and raised in Casper, I spent my career primarily in Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado, and returned to Wyoming to retire in 2003. I was married to Audrey Jarvis in 2006 and took up painting watercolors as a hobby around 2007. I have a son whose family lives in Sacramento.
My career was as a civil engineer and urban planner, with military service, residential rehabbing, designing passive solar homes, and resort management mixed in. I’ve travelled much of the world, and enjoy painting scenes of my adventures. I’ve been a board member of Casper Artists Guild, Casper’s Scotch and Watercolor Society, Mountain Shadows Artists Association in Yuma, a signature member of Wyoming Watercolor Society, and founder of Art-on-the-Go in Casper. I try every subject and style I can, and seem to prefer painting street scenes, wildlife, and landscapes. I do my best work painting quickly, and letting the water do most of the work.
